Conference Update and Travel Guidance for EACL 2026

We are aware of the uncertainties surrounding the current conflict in the Middle East and understand that many in our global community may be affected in different ways.

At this time, as the conference is taking place in Morocco, which is geographically distant from the areas directly impacted, we do not anticipate any disruption to the conference itself. The EACL 2026 Organizing Committee, in close collaboration with our Local Organization Chairs, is actively monitoring the situation. Should any development — related or unrelated — pose a risk to the conference or its participants, we will communicate promptly with all registered attendees.

We recognize that some participants may experience changes to flight routes, particularly if previously scheduled to travel through major regional hubs. We recommend that all in-person attendees:

• Monitor communications from your airline closely.
• Check your flight status regularly in the days leading up to travel.
• Consider routing directly through Morocco where possible.
• If your itinerary includes connections through hubs such as Dubai or Abu Dhabi, verify with your airline whether any adjustments are needed.

We encourage everyone to allow extra time for travel planning and to review any airline or airport advisories prior to departure.
